Our sources and review limitations

Updated 27 September 2026. This page explains how to judge information on OnlineGamblingCasino.co.nz. We publish NZ-focused gambling guides and operator listings and may earn commissions from some links. A listing, score or link is not proof of a current NZ casino licence, a technical audit, a verified bonus or a completed payout test.

What our evidence labels mean

  • Regulator source: A link to current guidance, legislation or a public register for a legal or licence claim. A regulator’s general guidance does not verify a particular casino.
  • Operator terms: The operator’s own bonus, banking or account rules. These can change, and a stated offer may have eligibility conditions.
  • Documented test: A described method, date and result for a specific feature. If no such record is shown on a review, do not assume we tested it with real money.
  • Site opinion: A score or comparison judgement. It should be interpreted in light of the evidence and our commercial relationships.

Licence and safety checks

The Department of Internal Affairs says New Zealand’s online casino licensing is being introduced in stages and expects to start issuing licences in early 2027. An overseas licence, pending application, NZD account or logo on a casino website is not a current NZ licence. When DIA’s register is available, check the exact operator and brand there. Sports and racing betting follows a separate framework.

Similarly, a named test lab or RNG statement should link to a relevant current certificate or report with its scope. A certificate for one game or platform is not proof of every game, payment process or customer outcome. We do not claim to have independently audited all listed casinos’ security or game fairness.

Review and ranking limitations

Some older reviews and cards show ratings, offers or claims without enough visible supporting evidence. Treat those as site content that still needs checking, not as independently verified endorsements. A review with a date and source allows a reader to distinguish what was checked from what remains unknown. Our editorial policy sets out the desired evidence for licence, payment, bonus, support and game claims.

Funding and corrections

Referral commissions may affect which operators are featured or their placement. Read the affiliate disclosure. If you find a factual error, use our contact page with the URL, exact claim and a primary source. Material corrections should be dated. We do not promise that every older page has already been rechecked.

Trust and transparency FAQ

Does a score prove a casino is licensed or safe?

No. A score is a site judgement. Check the named operator, current regulator status, terms and supporting evidence separately.

Has every listed casino passed a withdrawal test?

No site-wide test record is shown. If a particular review does not describe the date, method and result, do not assume a real-money withdrawal was tested.

Are RNG certificates verified for all listed games?

No blanket verification is documented. A certificate claim needs a traceable, relevant report and scope for the game or platform in question.

What sources should I check for NZ licensing?

Use DIA’s current guidance and, once published, its public register of licensed operators. An overseas licence or application is not the same as an issued NZ licence.
