iPad betting in New Zealand: 2026 guide

Reviewed 25 September 2026. An iPad can display a betting site in Safari or an installed app. Screen size, a store listing and a familiar brand do not confirm that the operator is authorised for New Zealand customers.

Know which product you are viewing

For racing and sports bets, DIA says TAB NZ is the only operator permitted to provide those products to people in New Zealand since 28 June 2025. The separate online casino licensing process has a cap of up to 15 licences, with first licences expected in early 2027. A future casino licence does not authorise sports betting. Using a tablet safely

Check the publisher of an app or the full website address before signing in or entering payment details.
Use a private account on a shared tablet, sign out after use and protect the device with an access code.
Read the operator’s withdrawal rules, fees, currency and privacy notice on a full screen; do not assume a tablet layout shows every term on its first panel.
Set a spending and time limit. A larger display or multitasking feature does not improve the odds.

Payments and identity

The Online Casino Gambling Regulations 2026 set requirements for licensed casino operators.
